How To Attach Italian Charms To BraceletHow to attach Italian charms to a bracelet confuses everyone to start with. You've just brought these lovely Italian links (charms) and suddenly you realise you have no idea how to attach them to your starter bracelet. And of course you need the same technique to close an Italian charm bracelet. Let me give you some additional advise before I send you off to a site that has excellent photos to follow on how to attach Italian charms. Take a very close look at the charm. If it is one similar to say the Pugster Italian charms it will have a tiny slot at one end. It is so small it is hard to see but make sure before you start that you have the charm sitting on the table in front of you and you know which end the slot is in. Find a good tool for opening the link. Personally, I use a thumb tack - one of those plastic headed ones with a longish point. Now don't stab yourself with it! What I do is ease that tack right through the link I'm opening so that I can stretch the link open. Then I remove the tack and keep the link open by the pressure of my thumb. Expect to have sore thumbs by the time you've done the first one! If it is any consolation, the first time I did this it took me about 15 minutes to attach one charm. Now I can attach an Italian charm to my bracelet in 30 seconds. Like most things in life - practise makes perfect. You will be gripping the bracelet between your thumb and forefinger on one hand. Ensure that your forefinger is well back otherwise it gets in the way as you try to slip the slot in the charm onto the hook of the bracelet. Now - with those additional pointers under your belt - take a good look at the images on this page. The page will open in a new window so you can flick back and forward between these instructions and the pictures. Good Luck! And remember now you know how to attach Italian charms you'll find it get much easier with practise. Helpful widgets!I havne't used one of these myself - I'm fine with my trusty old tack! - but you might find this helpful.
