Grans Bracelet

My favorite charm bracelet is the one I got from Gran. I didn't really get it from Gran but I bought it myself and I pretend it is from her.

Gran died about 6 months ago and I miss her heaps. We used to spend a lot of time together mostly just wandering about her garden and orchard. We live in Wisconsin and Gran used to be just down the road.

I know it isn't a very expensive bracelet and it doesn't even look like the one that Gran had but it is special to me because it holds her memory. She always said that I was to have her charm bracelet. She never use to wear it because she said her wrists were too scrawny now and there wasn't much use in drawing attention to that. My gran was very pretty in old photos of when she was a girl.

After she had passed over to the Lord I asked if she had left me the bracelet and my mom said that Gran had lost the bracelet years ago. But I know she hadn't because we used to look at it all the time. Everyone makes out that Gran had gone a bit funny in the end but she wasn't. She just forgot stuff sometimes.

So really there are 2 bracelets in my story but I can only give you a picture of 1.

The bracelet in the picture only has 5 links in it so far because I have to save up for each one but you can see they are all butterflies. We used to watch butterflies all the time because we both loved them. Gran always said that butterflies had the right idea, just be small and not very interesting until you were ready to fly away.

It is a Pugster Italian bracelet and I love the colors in them. All blue sky and no snow. Gran liked bright colors too. I'm going to only pick charms that have a butterfly on them so the bracelet will be like a memory of Gran. It is made of stainless steel.

Grans bracelet was made of real silver and had 15 big puffy hearts with butterflies on them. Some of them had little red and sparkly jewels on them too.

So I know my bracelet isn't really as special as Gran's was but it is very special to me. I think of Gran whenever I look at it.
